DUDE, I am not super vocal about being an atheist for that reason! 

If atheists want an award for most tolerant and most progressive, they better shut the fuck up about religious people practicing their religion in their own fucking space on their own fucking time and quit jumping into threads that don’t concern them just to mock and ridicule people who have nothing to do with them.  They also better work on the sexism of the general movement, because that shit is disgusting and most male atheists won’t even admit it exists.

Atheists as a whole definitely are not the most progressive or tolerant, and the “intelligent” claim is just arrogant. There are some serious issues with the movement as a whole that do honestly need to be addressed. But there have been studies that indicate atheists are among the most distrusted groups of people in the US.
