‘Villians’ Spread by Alex Ross for Issue #42 of Wizard Magazine

Who is under Galactus’ Left hand? inbetween Red Skull and kingpin?

I think it’s Ming the Merciless. He looks vaguely Yellow Scare-ish and he’s got rings on, I think.

I’m an idiot, its Mandarin

Yes, that is the person who I meant. Not Ming the Merciless, who is a Flash Gordon villain I mix him up with all the time.

Warning, douchebag alert.

This fucking idiot, Chris Spags, formerly from Men’s Health Magazine (that explains a lot), does a piece bashing Black Widow cosplayers for his really empty and surprisingly desperate website, Guyism.

http://guyism.com/entertainment/movies/worst-black-widow-cosplay-pics.html

I don’t really need to say what it means that a loser who writes glowingly of himself in third person on his shitty, unintentionally hilarious and self-obsessed website would somehow find women having fun playing dress-up as offensive to his delicate dickhead sensibilities.  I think we are used to hearing guys like that dish like a gossipy old grandma over women who are committing the unpardonable crime of having fun. Not to be abided, says douchebag!

With each caption he desperately tries to land a single punchline and fails every time. This is what happens when a bad writer doesn’t have a good editor.

Dear Chris Spags,

These women are having fun. They are honoring a character they like in a way that makes them happy.  In doing so, they make a lot of other people happy.

In return, you chose to wipe your feet on them, for no other reason than your doubtlessly crippling insecurities overwhelmed you.

Fuck you, Mr. Bad Hair Product Abuser. The only difference between these women and you is that they happen to KNOW they are playing a role. Oh, and of course, that they are human beings possessed of souls and kindness. Wait, I take it back, you are completely dissimilar.

But thanks for reminding everyone that those qualities are valuable and not distributed in equal portions among all, sadly.

Get bent,

Gail Simone

SRSLY??? I clicked through the pix (didn’t give a damn about the “commentary”) and all of those cosplayers are brilliant Black Widows! WTF?

It does take a certain degree of nerve and love of a character to cosplay them. Kudos to you!

He did post a public apology and retract the worst of the comments, and (strictly according to him, mind; I didn’t check twitter to correlate so take it with a grain of salt) apparently reached out to some of the people who called him out on the article, including Simone, and got no response.

That doesn’t make the fact that he thought the article was a good idea any less horrid, mind you. Nor does it make his shoddy jokes any funnier.

Batman Family Protrait (by msutters)
This was sent to me and I love it so much - a theme party where everyone had to dress as Batman. Can I do this for my wedding?
